In place of the engraving plate sits a 1.87 carat spessartine garnet in a carré cut, set on point in a plain bezel. Its deep brick red is among the most intense tones the garnet family produces. The ring head is faceted: clean planes run from the setting to either side and meet above the shoulders in a ridge that carries the rhombus of the stone on through the metal.
