The atelier's handA single fine line, and one point of light that never asks for attention - only holds it.
Conceived, cast and finished by a single atelier - so that the hand that drew the piece is the same that sets its stone.
The signet ring, for centuries a mark of authority and belonging - here reduced to its geometry. In place of the engraving plate sits a 1.87 carat spessartine garnet in a carré cut, set on point in a plain bezel. Its deep brick red is among the most intense tones the garnet family produces. The ring head is faceted: clean planes run from the setting to either side and meet above the shoulders in a ridge that carries the rhombus of the stone on through the metal. The garnet comes from Morogoro, Tanzania. The band is 6 mm wide, the profile measures 1.7 mm. For him and for her. Crafted in 925 sterling silver.
Red spessartine sits where mandarin orange tips into deep garnet red - manganese and iron share the color. The result is a warm red with an orange core that changes sides depending on the light.
A red that glows orange from within - untreated, with the high refractive index of the garnet group.
Spessartine is associated with drive, warmth, and joy of life. It is said to awaken initiative and encourage confidence.
Garnet is durable but sensitive at the facet edges - no ultrasonic cleaning, protect from hard knocks.
